1. Overview

JavaFy ("JavaFy", "we", "us") provides an Android app and companion website for learning Java through text and video tutorials, code snippets, an in-app compiler, quizzes, and community content. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected across the JavaFy website and the JavaFy Android app, how it's used, and the choices you have.

By using the JavaFy website or app, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use JavaFy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information collected automatically

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. This automatically collects data such as app usage events (screens viewed, tutorials opened, features used), general device information (device model, OS version, language, approximate country/region derived from IP address), and crash/performance diagnostics. This data is not used to identify you personally.

2.2 Push notifications

The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver notifications (e.g., new tutorials, updates). This requires a device-specific messaging token, which does not by itself identify you personally.

2.3 Account sign-in (optional)

If you choose to sign in with Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by your Google account. This is used to identify your account within the app, for example to sync progress across devices.

2.4 Play Games Services (optional)

If you connect Google Play Games, the app may access your Play Games profile and use Play Games' saved-game feature to back up and restore your quiz/mock-exam progress and achievements across devices. This is managed by Google under its own privacy terms.

2.5 In-app purchases

Purchases (e.g., premium features) are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. JavaFy does not receive or store your payment card details — Google handles payment information and shares only purchase confirmation/entitlement data with the app.

2.6 Online compiler

The in-app compiler lets you write and run Java code. To execute your code, the text you submit is sent to Piston, a free public third-party code execution API, and the output is returned to the app. Please don't include personal or sensitive information in code you run, since it is transmitted to this third-party service for execution and is not reviewed or stored by us.

2.7 Advertising

The app displays ads using Google AdMob (Google Play Services Ads). AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads, and — depending on your consent/device settings — to personalize ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising or reset your advertising ID in your device's system settings (Settings → Google → Ads).

2.8 Community content

The in-app community/forum section is bundled content viewed within the app. If it links out to external sites or discussion platforms, those third parties' own privacy policies apply once you leave the app.

2.9 Website (compsgeek.in)

The JavaFy website is a static informational site. It does not use cookies, trackers, or analytics beyond the standard access logs (e.g., IP address, browser type, request time) automatically generated by our hosting provider, Google Firebase Hosting, for security and reliability purposes.

• To operate, maintain, and improve the app and website
• To sync your learning progress, quiz results, and achievements across devices (if you sign in)
• To run code you submit in the online compiler and return the output to you
• To send you notifications about new content or updates
• To process in-app purchases via Google Play Billing

• To understand feature usage and diagnose crashes, in aggregate/anonymized form

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data Retention

We retain account and progress data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the app's features. Analytics data is retained by Firebase according to Google's standard retention settings. You can request deletion of your account data at any time (see Section 8).

6. Children's Privacy

JavaFy is intended for general audiences learning Java and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Your Choices

• Sign-in is optional — you can use most tutorial and compiler features without signing in.
• Notifications can be disabled in your device's app notification settings.
• Ad personalization can be limited via your device's ad settings.
• Account deletion — contact us (Section 8) to request deletion of your account and associated data.
